Mr W. Sullivan M.P. was strong in his criticism of the Government’s policy in rewarding its supporters and Union workers by appointing them to the Legislature, at last Tuesday’s public meeting and in the course of his remarks amused his audience by stating that if he had his way he would cut out their stipends and offer them the alternative of carrying on without cost to the ratepayers dispersing. There would soon be a fade-out, he prophesied and they would be able to set up a decent billiard room for the benefit of members from the Lower House.
