WEDDING BELLS

BELL—ADDISON A wedding of wide interest to the residents of Waimana and surrounding districts took place on Thursday, March 14 in the Waimana Church, when Eileen Joyce, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. Addison, was married to Robert Abbot, youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr P. H. Bell. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride, and Miss Pat McConnell supplied the wedding music. The efiiciating minister was the Rev. Nummy. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a slim-fitting gown of white jersey cloth, with a deeply tucked long waisted bodice and slightly trained skirt. Her fulllength veil of .embroidered tulle was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white lilies, carnations, shasta daisies and maiden hair fern.

The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Elsie Addison and cousin Miss Lorna Peebles who were frocked alike in cornflower blue cloque made with heart-shaped neck lines fringed with silver beading, low waisted bodices, and fully flared skirts. They also carried shower bouquets of red carnations and blue delphiniums, and wore matching flowers in their hair.

Mr Tom Clark, of Opotiki, carried out the duties of best man, and Mr Lyall Bell was groomsman. After the wedding a reception was held in the Waimana Hall.

To receive her guests Mrs Addison chose a model frock of navy crepe, relieved with a shoulder spray of cream roses and blue delphiniums. She was assisted by Mrs Bell who wore a black frock with a shoulder spray of autumn flowers. During the cutting of the threetiered cake Miss Lorna Peebles rendered a solo “Love’s Old Sweet Song.” ■For travelling the bride chose a model frock of powder blue crepe, a grey coat and navy accessories. The reception was followed by a dance which was greatly enjoyed by all present.
