INSTRUCTIVE FIELD DAY
GATHERING AT OPOURIAO With the exception oK Opotiki which was unahlc to send represent tatives all Young Farmers' Clubs of this district were well represented at a Field Day which was held on the property of Mr J. S. ,Rae, Opourfao on February 12. Fifty cards were handed in lor the competition in stock judging. Mr J. S. Rue and Mr Jim Rae acted as adjudicators and marked these, .cards. The. in-ter-club competition resulted .in Tancatua Y.F.C being placc'd Waimana second, Thornton, third, Opotiki District High School Y.-F.C fourth, and Whakatanc Dist let High School Y.F.C. fifth. Taneatua Y.F.C. being only a Aveek old\sbice resuscitation is to be heartily 'congratulated on its performance. Tlie tearh •selected to represent Eastern Bay of Plenty against -Western, for the Wright, Stephenson Challenge Cup was chosen, from the highest scoring cards and consists . ol' • A.

Y.F.C The interd}strict competition will be held in Western Bay's district this year and during this month but the date has not yet been fixed. Western my are putting on a demonstration fsi sheep judging on this'Field Day for the education of those who attend, but the Wright Stephenson Chair lenge Cup is confined to the judging of dairy cows. We wish the Eastern Bay of Plenty team every success and trust that they will bring badk the Cup from the other end of the Bay this year. • ~\i.
