A series of enjoyable games took place on the Whakatane Bowling Club's greens at Apanui during the weekend, the continued fine weather attracting a large number of, players. The following results were recorded:—

Bell and Howat (s) 28 beat Johnston Shapley and Caisley (s) 16; Bennett Anderson and Henderson (s) 24 beat Cockerell, Coates, Alexander and Pearson (s) 16; Sumner Home, Berg and Loane (s) 17 beat'Davis/E.
