NEW LOAN AUTHORITY

WHAKATANE HOSPITAL BOARD £2500 FOR NEW BOILER ' It was unanimously decided by the Whakatane Hospital Board on Thursday to make formal application to the Local Government Loans Board for authority to raise a loan of. £2500 for the purpose of installing a new boiler for servicing the institution.

Estimates from Messrs A. and G. Price for supply and installation of the new boiler totalled £2350 and were fully discussed by the Board. The chairman (Mr J. Mulling) stated that the procedure would be to apply to the Board for sanction and to submit the proposition to the local bodies concerned for approval. In the event of an objection being lodged, by either contributing body it would be considered in conjunction with the loan application by raising the loan the burden would lest easier upon tiie ratepayers than if the new scheme were linanced outright.

The motion was put to the meet ing and unanimously adopted.
