WARNING TO HOUSEHOLDERS

Messrs Hall and Stewart' of Whajkatane, have received the following communication from the Taupiri coal mines regarding the future curtailment of supplies :

“Telegram received reading railway stock position desperate. Require all screened coal from your mine to be supplied to Railways until further notice. Coal to be supplied to hospitals but none, to industries or suppliers. Absolute compliance with this order is demanded. Signed, Mining Controller. Ail consignments of domestic coal are therefore suspended until further notice.
