AUCKLAND UNION’S OBJECTS
TELLING THE COUNTRY!
At last Executive meeting of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union (Auckland Province) held recently in the Union’s headquarters Hobson a full discussion took place, on the present and future policy of the Union. A suggestion from Mr A. C. A. Sexton that a manifesto embodying the following lie issued was unanimously approved:— “Insistence that labour reward allowed for in finding the price for farm products be calculated on the basis of the best reward for labourers in the industrial world. “That the value of farmers’ assets used for production purposes be based on the cost of making these assets at the present time. The reward for capital to be on this value. “The encouragement of co-opera-tive enterprises.” Propoganda activities notified at the December Executive meeting have continued and the appointment of two new organisers, Messrs. R. W. Dunning and O. Pocock, was notified. Organisers’ reports were received from Messrs. R. W. Dunning( R. C. Kruse and S. S. Green. These were generally considered to be satisfactory, tbe concensus of the organisers’ findings being that it was only necessary for the true position in regard to conflicting campaigns together with the past record of the Auckland Union to be placed before the farmers to ensure an encouraging response.
