“Appearance of Twin-Cress”

An unseasonable appearance of Twin-Cress, a weed which has an exceedingly detrimental effect on cream supplied to factories, occuiv red at Christmas time in the Opotiki district. Normally the weed commences to make itself noticeable

much earlier in the year, and has vanished by the end of November, but for some reason, as stated, a second growth appeared in the Opotiki district. Similar outbreaks have occurred, around ‘Tauranga and Ivatikati, although not to the same extent. Tile Department of Agriculture is present working on the problem of combatting it.
