ARMY VEHICLES

PRACTICALLY NONE' COMING

FORWARD EX-SERVICEMEN ADVISED “At present there are no surplus ears available from the Army and the prospects of further vehicles coming forward in the near future, are very ment from the Rehabilitation Department. “As a' result very few, if any of the many hundreds of exservicemen who have lodged applications through their rehabilitation ofrjces will be able to obtain a car, and they will thus have to buy through the normal channels.” The statement points out to exservicemen that as there are. no vehicles available it is practically useless to send in fresh applications. Should it so happen that any cars did come forward, only the most deserving cases would be considered. “The tyre position is also very acute ” savs the statement “and ex*servicemen Inlying vehicles arc advised to inspect tyres closely before purchasing. The tyre controller has agreed to give preference to properly recommended ex-servicemen within the general priorities laid down but applications will be recommended only where the need for tyres is essential to the ex-servicemen’s rehabilitation. When the. position improves ex-servicemen will be given first opportunity of filling their requirements.”
