SWIMMING CLUB’S ENTERPRISE
LESSONS PROCEEDING
The learn-to-swim week Initiated ])3 r the Whakatane Swimming Club is meeting with' great success. Commencing on Monday last instructors trained twenty pupils between 3 and 5 p.m. In the evening a further twenty were handled between 5 and 7 p.m. Lust evening the instruction was continued on the same spot the river end of Larding Road when an area was roped off and a further large batch of pupils were present.
Great enthusiasm is shown already, and the club is proud to report that some four children who could not swim before are now masters of the rudimentary strokes. The Periods of instruction will he carried on all this week up to and including Saturday. All people, young °i aic eligible whether they) are members of the club or not. It is also' an opportunity for swimmers' to improve their strokes and it is most pleasing, to note the ready response made by the genera! public.
