TANEATUA ROD & GUN CLUB

LARGE ENTRIES RECORDED

The Toneatua Rod and Gun Club held a most successful shoot recently at Pekatahi. There was a large number of competitors and visitors present and some excellent results were recorded, several possibles be-ing-scored. Twenty-five members joined up on the day making the total present membership ol' the club 113. The club will have an up-to-date ground lor the big opening shoot some time next month. Results were as follows: — 5 Bird Eye-opener: W. C. Davis, C. McCracken, S. Luttre.ll, J- F. Shepherd, W. Semmens, S. Kerr, W. Rencti F. Matchitt and J. Pla r mus all made the possible. (-10 entries) .

Sweep No. 2, First Year Shooters: J. Seramens J. Moore, G. Mitchell, S. Luttrell R. Rawson, I..'Shepherd, S. Kerr all shot the possible. (33 entries).

Sweep No, 3, 10 .Birds for Mr A. Hayter’s Trophy and Sweep Stake: A. Mitchell and S. Kerr shot 9 birds each. In the shoot oil Kerr won on his 11th bird. (34 entries).

Sweep No. 4 5 Birds Novice Handicap: J. Tebbutt, S. Luttrell, It. S. Ricketts and j’. Butler shot the possible. In the shoot off Ricketts won with 10 birds.

Sweep No. 5 5 Birds Sweep Stake: J. Plum us and C. Timbs made the possible. (15 entries). No. 6 Sweep 10 Birds for Mr F. Peebles Trophy: J. Butler 15yds, M. B. Wardlaw 11yds, S. Kerr 15 yds A. Powdrell 11yds made the possible. In the shoot off for the trophy Wardlaw won on his 14th bird, S. Kerr being second. (30 en r tries).

Sweep No. 7, Double Rise, 3 pairs Birds: W. Seramens and C. Timbs tied with 5 birds each and divided the stakes. (25 enries). t

Sweep No. 8 5 Birds: J. Plamus, C. Timbs J. Seramens, W. Davis, M. Matchitt and R. S. Ricketts made the possible and. divided the stakes. (11 entries).
