BOBBY CALF POOL
ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SEASON
The New Zealand Co-operative Pig Marketing Association announces the completion of. another successful Bobby Calf season. Altogether the product from seventyseven Bobby Calf Pools was handled for a total of 302,000 calves, sixty* two of the Pools handled being located in the North Island, while 15 were in the South Island., The total hooks weight of the product amounted to 9,289 JXlOlbs. for which the nett export value at Freezing Works was £217,300.
The total cost from farm gate to Freezing Works; for cartage and railage including other charges authorised by committees was £3l 217 leaving a nett surplus lor distribution to some 22,000 suppliers of £186,000.
In spite of a small overall fall in the average hooks Aveight of calves handled the aA*crage at Works realisations this year Avere slightly higher than last year.
