HEALTH STAMP SALES
NEARLY SOLD OUT £725 FROM GISBORNE POSTAL DISTRICT “There has been a tremendous demand lor the current issue of. health stamps and the sales in the Gisborne postal district i'or December, 1945, amounted to £l-14 8s bringing the total up to the end of last year to £721. 19s 9%d” stated the chief postmaster Mr G A. Condie. “The campaign commenced on October 1, 1915, and it is expected that before the end of this month the whole issue will have been sold out. The Gisborne Post Cilice has a very limited supply and early application will be necessary by those who wish to add to their stamp collection and at the same time help the local health camp,” Mr Condie commented.
?The issue depicts the famous Peter Pan statue in Kensington Gardens, London and is in denomination of lt 2 d and 3d. Two or three weeks ago a report was circulated that the whole sup-* ply of stamps had been disposed of and a New Zealand stamp journal which has just been issued this month stated that all stocks had been disposed of. The Health stamps' were sold out at the Opotiki Post Office some time ago.
