The beach itself was thronged from early morning and it was hard to believe that it Avas not Christmas or Ncav Year's Day. Ohope gave of its best, the even-Ooreaking Avaves making for ideal bathing and surfing. Children were particularly in evidence and were to he seen in the park, playgrounds and on the sands —as one visitor remarked to a'Beacon representative (This beach is just' about a paradise for youngsters.’ The camp ground remains fairly well patronised and tents and cara* vans still fill the better camp sites.According to one resident, the per* sons toda>v AA T ho are stopping at Ohope are those who usualty wait for the Christmas holiday rush to finish before they decide to take" a quieter and less croAA'ded vacation. - As far as Aveather is concerned, they certainly have. had the best of th'e deal so far.
