HOGG—GARA WAY On Saturday, December Sth the. marriage of Marjorie Grace, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs H;' ®. Garaway to Donald Elvery eldest son > '> of Rev. and Mrs H. Hogg, was soli emniscd in Knox Church Whakatane 9 at 2 p.m. The officiating minister the Rev. 11. M. Bell was assisted by the. bridegroom’s father the Rev. H. Hogg. The organist was Mrs Alan Stewart.

The bride who was given away by her father wore a trained gown of deep cream ; heavily embossed satin made on classical lines. Her tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of white carnations and daisies and she carried a shower bouquet of Xmas 1 illies_ carnations, and daisies. In attendance as bridesmaid, was Miss Ruth Caraway 5 sister of the bride, who wore a frock of aqua blue embossed cloque and carried a shower bouquet of red carnations gerberas and blue delphiniums with coronet to match.

The best man was Mr David Hogg, brother of the bridegroom, and the ushpr Mr Athol Caraway. Following the Ceremony a reception was held at the home of the nride’s parents..

MALAQUIN —BATY A wedding of considerable local interest was solemnised, at the Presbyterian Church Whakatane on "9 9 Wednesday, December 19, when MiD dred second daughter of Mr' and 9 Mrs J. A. Baty, Awaken, was married to Francis Waldermar, eldest son of Mr and Mrs E. P. Malaquin, of Christchurch. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. C. Howat of Turua. The bride’s grandmother, Mrs W. J. Baty of Gisborne was organist. The bride, who wa sgiven away by her father, was attired in a very pretty frock of dusky pink with which she wore white hat and acces,sorics. Her bouquet was of gladioli, carnations and blue, bells.

Attending as bridesmaid was her sister, Miss Ruth Baty, who wore a frock in cyclamen and white tonings, witli white hat and accessories. Her bouquet was of gladioli and carnations.

The duties of best man were per-' formed by Mr Gordon Howat. The reception was held in the Caledonian Hall, where over 100 guests were received by Mrs Baty and the bride groom’s sister, Miss R. Malaquin. The happy couple left later for Whangarei.
