DUST NUISANCE AT TE TEKO
IF ever a township bore the appearance of delapidated abandonment it is surely the short business front of Te Teko. To the passing traveller Te Teko presents a grubby mustiness which serves to speed him on his way in an effort to shake off the dust as quickly as possible. Such procedure is in reality a definite fact and the griminess of the' settlement is one hundred per cent, due to the dust from the unprotected roadway which carries one of the greatest vehicular burdens in the County. Te Teko's dust has become a legend. It is always there and because of its mixed population its claims to recognition are apt to be overlooked. Now however that Edgecumbe has been recognised and steps are to be taken to renfedy the longstanding dust-evil there, it is high time the residents of Te Teko took up a similar vigorous attitude,, not merely in tho interests of the dingy appearance of their town but in tha interests of their own health and hygeinic well-being.
