HAPPY BREAK-UP vj ■ f With boys from the Edgecumbe troop as their guests 1 the Awakeri Scout troop held its :• breaking,-up night for the year in the local hall last Wednesday evening. A bright programme of games and fun was carried out under the supervision Scoutmaster T. Howell ahd his a&sistant^. One of the-highlights was a popular play } entitled 'Fish For Sale* in which Scout Tony Haiiltain figured prominently as the worried vendor. The Commissioner for the County attended the presented the King Scout certificate to Troop Leader John Hanna. This presentation as far as [ can be ascertained - makes for the eighth King Scout in the Bay of Plenty in the past twenty years and it was a considerable honour to the Awakeri troop to produce so highly a qualified member. j The judging of two cases containing complete camp outfits for one patrol was another feature of * the and the Commissioner who acted in a friendly capacity as judge was given a most difficult task. The winning Patrol Leader was presented with a useful looking hatchet. Supper concluded a very enjoyable and memorable evening.
