Touring by Rolls Royce
A few days ago three, servicemen were, noticed chuffing through the main street of Whakatane in an auto of uncertain vintage. Nothing unusual in that —except that the auto in question happened to be a Rolls Royce. The sight was rather unfamiliar, and Avhen the car pulled in to tbe curb outside the Post Office a closer inspection was definitely indicated. "W T e were unable to ascertain the exact era to which it belonged . sufficient it is to say that it probably first saw light of day just before or during "World War 1. It was dark red in and the sides had that characteristic (and oh so modern) streamlined appearance —they sloped inwards at the top ! We were assured, by the soldiers in question, who were passing through however, that the engine and springs were in perfect condition.
