COMING OF AGE
MISS PAMELA KING ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED A large number of friends gathered at the residence of Mr and Mrs H. L. King the Strand on. Friday 9 * evening where, a .sherry party was held in honour of the coming of age of their daughter Pamela. The guests, were received by the guest of honour who was frocked in dusky pink crepe, and many beautiful presents Avere received by her. The toast of the evening was proposed by Mr T. A. Bridger, who wished Pa-mela all the best for the future. The delicious beautifully decorated was then cut, after the twenty-one candles had been lit traditionally wished on } and blown out. . Mr H. L. King ? then took the opportunity of announcing the engagement of his daughter to Mr Alan Thompson of Manawahe. Both received the hearty congratulations of the large crowd. The party continued with music and community singing, and concluded several hours later.
