'Holiday Revels' The On Parade review company opened last night in Whakatane at the Grand Theatre with the variety show 'Holiday Revels.' The house was not exceptionally hut doubtless a packed house will greet the players this evening. The show itself is good, Jack Riley ? New Zea-> land's own. comedian, in particular Tjeing topr-notch. Don Le boy soprano fully merits his place in the company whilst Rodney Stokes (tenor) presents his talents effecKay and the Melody Maids present three acts—three of the best in the show; The costuming for these particularly ? as throughout the whole show deserves comment. It is neat and appropriate, and very effective. Peter Rowell (song and dance artist) adds considerably to the standard of the presentation. He is an excellent offsider for Riley, besides being an artist himself. One of the star turns of the evening ;is presented by Wilma Lockwood, acrobatic dancer And contortionist. Her's is indeed a spectacular display. Sylvia Poynter is responsible for the and we /eel that she | has done an excellent job ? in bring-* ing to Whakatane a show well .5 worth seeing.
