LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
MONTHLY MEETING A very good attendance was recorded at the last meeting of the League of Mothers. Mrs Gow presided. The meeting was opened in the usual manner the Rules and Objects of the League being read. All present joined in the League Prayer and .the Lord's Prayer. It being Hospital Day members brought many books magazines and (lowers. Mrs Hanlin gave tlie j thought for the month.' j The speaker i'or the day was Mrs I llushbrook who gave a very interesting and comprehensive address on Guiding explaining how girls were impressed with the spiritual and '.eautiful things of life f and how they were trained to compete for badges of competence in many useful subjects which would stand them in good stead in the future. The speaker mentioned that she had written to a bride in the district who had recently come from England, and who had been a Guide herself. It proved that Guiding extended ! the world over. Mrs Rushbrook also gave two itfems—"God Make Me Kind" and; "On Wings, of Song" being ably ac-; companied by Mrs Goodwin. Mrs Hogg gave a very interesting reading on "Christmas in (the. Home" which was much enjoyed. Mrs Gow then extended the comc pliments of the season to all present. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses and the singing of the National Anthem brought a very happy meeting (to a close.)
