TRUCK OVERTURNS
ACCIDENT AT POROPORO OCCUPANTS FORTUNATE ESCAPE An accident occurred on Saturday evening f when a truck belonging to Boon Sullivan Luke Ltd. Whaka-: tane overturned, on the road at the Poroporo corner. Messrs A. Atkin. j son Jun. and Biuce Sullivan were j the occupants of the truck at the time of the and the former, who was driving, was admitted to the Whakatane Public Hospital. The latter escaped without serious injury. The vehicle wa/ negotiating the corner when it skidded in the loose metal on the high crown of the road ? and got out of control. It rolled over twice and both the occupants were thrown through the roof of the cab. Extensive damage was sustained by the truck.
