WEDDING BELLS

RANBY—ROBINSON The. marriage of Miss Kathleen Mary only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. R. Robinson of Victoria B.C. Canada, to Pte. Joseph Austin Ran by youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs J. G. of Canada, and 66 Domain Road, Whakatane, took place on Saturday, December 1 at St. George's Church Whakatane. The Rev. J. G. J. Wilson officiated and Dr. E. T. Dawson was organist The bride who was given away by the bridegroom's brother Mr A. C. Ranby of Edgecumbe, wore a light wool gabardine suit in mustard shade with hat to match and brown accessories. She wore, ii shoulder spray of white roses and carnations. Mrs A. Murray niece of the brideattended as matron of honour wearing an olive green suit of heavy silk with brown hat and accessories and a shoulder spray ol pink carnations. The best, man was Mr George E. Hollister, nephew of the bridegroom. During the signing of the register the hymn "The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden" w T £is sung. After the ceremony a reception w r as held in the Parish Hall, where some fifty guests assembled and were received by Mrs C. sister of the bridegroom as hostess. Mr C. E. Christensen made a capable toastmaster. Mr and Mrs Ranby left later on their honeymoon for Rotorua. Their future home will be Whakatane.
