AMATEUR ATHLETICS

MONDAY'S AWAKERI MEETING All interested in the revival of the Whakatane Amateur Athletic Club are reminded of Monday's meeting in the Awaken Hall convened lor that purpose. There is no need to emphasise the great and growing need for such an organisation or to expound on the wonderful benefit which the youth of the district would receive as a result of its operations. There is -ample room for such a club to and its claims to public support are broadbased on :he appeal to interest youth in clean sport other than professional. On the same night a further meeting will explore the possibilities, of forming an Axemen's Club for the furtherance of these spectacular competitions in the district.
