GROWING OF SEEDS

REHABILITATION BOARD INVESTIGATES The possibility of establishing suitable ex-servicemen as growers of small seeds has been investigated by the Rehabilitation Board and at 'J a recent meeting reports, on the subject were received from the Royal New Zealand Institute of Horticulture and by the Department of Agriculture. After brief discussion it was decided that the reports be received. It was felt that it was not practicable to establish mcil as fulltime growers but if undertaken the 53 7 growing of small seeds should be a sideline activity.

It was mentioned that New Zealand used to import large quantities of small seeds, but importation had already been to a large extent replaced by home-growers.
