OHOPE ROAD APPROACHES

WIDESPREAD are the complaints, as is usual this time of the year, from Ohope residents regarding the state of the roads generally at Ohope Beach and of the approaches. Being under administration of the County Council it has evei been, a matter of wide speculation as to just how much interest that body has shown in the beach and its potentialities. Today the fords have been filled with sharp metal which is a danger to vehicles, and a menace to tyres, while the dust and loose metal on the access road is likewise cited as constituting more than a mere nuisance. Ohope is fast earning the age-worn epitaph 'Where every prospect pleases and only roads are vile/
