"CAN'T HELP SINGING" The- picture that placctl Deanna Dufbin back on the list of favourites with film Jans lias been booked by tlie management of the Regent Theatre for screening at the end of the month. It is entitled "Can't Help Singing." When Deanna Durbin first attained stardom, she did so in a type oi' picture which appealed strongly to the. public. Her voice -was featured and usually the story Avas built in order to allow her amazing talent as a singer full play. After scoring a succession of hits she changed more to and her last picture, "Christmas Holiday" showed her as a straight-out dramatic actress. There can be no doubt that in this role she was superb yet because her reputation had been built on her voice, she Avas not Avidely accepted by the public as a dramatic actress. "Can't Help Singing" is Deanna's return to her old and popular .style. The story is of America in the early days (1849) an;d concerns the old West. It includes a number of songs f and offers full scope to her A'oicc. it is in teclmicolour_ and can be recommended to all aylio liked Deanna as they first knew her.
