GUILTY PAKEIIA DEFENDED
The usual attitude of refusing to give information regarding the Pakeha who supplied faim with the liquor was adopted by Matui Pokai. in the' Whakatane Magistrate's Court last Tuesday when he laced a charge of • assisting a jferson unknown in. the commission of an offence. Pokai who pleaded guilty was seen by the police putting two bottles of beer in his truck on September 22 last. He admitted that he had obtained the. liquor from a Pakeha but would not divulge his identity. I Fined £2 and costs 255. ;
