GUN DOG FIELD TRIAL HELD t
On Saturday the Wftakatane Rod and Gun Club conducted a successful gun dog field trial in Whaliatane. Dogs from the town and riiany other parts of the district were brought to participate, and a large amount of credit is due to the club.for the manner in which the various events were run aft.
Two trials were held during the afternoon, one for puppies under 12 months and the other for novice dogs that had hot previously won a trial except in Puppy Class.
Following were, the results: PuppyClass —Mr J. Plamus' English Setter "Sunday" handled by Mr J. Penny j 53 points 1: Mr Harry Jackson's English Setter 52 points 2: Mr S. Kerr's English 30 points 3. Novice Class—Mr t F. Cameron's Labrador "Rock" 77 points 1: Mr W. Kenyon's English Setter 75 points 2; Mr M. Match Irish Setter 72 points 3. Judges were Messrs W. Hume anil F. Cameron; Official Shooters Messrs C. Timbs and M. Matchitt; Trap Steward, Mr J. Hanwiight. The club contemplates' holding another trial at an early date and those wishing to participate are re-» quested to forward: the. names and breed of dogs to be entered, to the secretary, Mr F. Cameron at the earliest opportunity ..
