Failure to Give Way
The extenuating circumstances In the charge against A. D. McLsay of failure to yield right of way to a pedestrian crossing, resulted in costs l()s alone being recorded against him in the Whakatane Magistrate's Court last Tuesday. Evidence showed that the defendant was driving a bus late at night when a thin drizzle was Calling. Temporarily dazzled by the lights of an oncoming be passed the crossing which a Maori attempted to use and struck him. The victim proved later to be under the influence of liquor.
