brought by both the Transport Department and the County Inspector, and concerned mainly those motorists who were unable to produce Warrants of Fitness. Uniform f'lies were imposed in all cases.

on August. 24 was fined ~>s and 12s costs. Harold George Webby for a similar offence suffered likewise. The absence of current Warrants of Fitness cost and Stanley Gordon Ker 10s and 12s costs each. Mrs Eileen M. Lawn w r as fined 5s and costs 19s 6d. Tui for having no driver's license a"nd no Warrant of Fitness was lined 5s and 25s costs and 10s and 25s costs respec•J tivcly. Straying Stock Inspector Carling brought a case against Paki Tutahi the owner of one bay pony found straying on the main highway at Edgecumbe on September 17. Defendant said that he had. just purchased the horse which was being driven to his farm. Or'dered to pay costs 15s.
