Be Prepared !
Typical of the manner in which the Whakatane Volunteer Fire Brigade is always 'ready for anything' was the presence of the lire engine outside the Caledonian Hall on Friday evening, when the Brigade's annual dance was held. We seem to remember that at a previous Fire Brigade dance held in the Winter Show somebody's chicken coop inadvertently caught lire ancl for once, Bridagesmen were able to all ride on 'the engine to combat the blaze.
