SNOOKER TOURNAMENT
FINALS PLAYED The finals of the snooker tournament which was held in Mr J. Han. wright's billiard saloon were jjlayed on Monday evening the winner being T. Morgan. Three finalists lined up: T. Morgan, S. Davis and T. Reid 1 and the laurels went to the winner oi' the best two games out of three, T. Reid ((>) and S. Davis commmeced play, Davis scoring two •>2—<>() and 4(J—;ro. Davis then played off with T. Morgan the former starting 'If a handicap of 12. Morgan was victor in both games .points being 49—61 and 4.4 —70. A number of spectators were present for the matches and play was good. Davis, who is omy a young player t did extremely well parti, cularly against Morgan, who is an old hand at the game. First prize of a rosewood cue valued at £2 10s thus went to Mor. J gan whilst Davis claimed the award for the runner up of £1 andj also the prize ol' 10s for .the highest break of the tournament 20. This snooker has aroused sufficient interest in the town to warrant further ones i.eing held while it is understood that billiard enthusiasts are now also agitating for a tournament.
