FANCY DRESS

plunket childrens gala The Caledonian Hall was well filled last Saturday when the Children's Fancy Dress afternoon promoted in the interests of the Whakatane Plunket Society branch took place. As in the past the event was well patronised and hundreds of gaily attired youngsters ranging from the veriest tiny tots to children of the senior took part in the'"Grand Parade. The whole event was a pronounced success and reflects tYic greatest credit on those lady organisers who were responsible for its promotion. Afternoon tea ; always a most , popular interlude was all that could be desired and the. youngsters did full justice to the remarkable array of good things set before them. As a result, the Society funds will benefit to the extent of £16.
