AWAKERI ACCIDENT

CAR STRIKES POLE FAMILY'S MIRACULOUS ESCAPE When the car in which were travelling- Mr and Mrs P. Mad. of Te and their two young children left the road at the Awakeri struck a concrete marking poet and careered on to crash; into a tele, graph the family had a miraculous escape. The accident occurred on Friday Mr Maddern being the driver. The two chilch'en escaped without injury, while Mr ancl Mrs Maddern were both admitted to the Wha'katane Public Hospital, Mr Maddern suffering from abrasions and Mrs Maddern mainly l'rom shock. Both are reported to be progressing satisfactorily. It is understood that the ear is a complete 'write-off.'
