WELL DONE EDGECUMBE!
DOUBLE PATRIOTIC QUOTA RAISED DISTRICT'S REMARKABLE FEAT On Friday last Mr D. S. Radcliffe chairman of the Edgecumbe Patriotic Committee, paid in the final sum raised by the Edgecumbe district under the Patriotic Quota sj'stem. The net result was that in-> stead of meeting the bare quota of £1125, which Edgecumbe was called upon to raise the chairman was; able to pay in just twice that sum. When it is considered that Edgecumbe carries but a population of 8(H) persons the. achievement is the more remarkable. It means that practically every man, woman and child in the Edgecumbe Patriotic district raised £3 to meet the 1945 quota. This is a record which we l'cel 'Confident would be hard to better anywhere else in the Dominion.
