WHO'S THE RUDDER?

AND WHY ? A 'Q" MYSTERY Who } or what, is it that holds the rudder which gives the direction in which a queue will form? The first session oil the Saturday morning for "Going My Way" attracted oyer (iOO people who milled round the doors of the theatre in a mob, trying to buy tickcts. Th'c theatre, manager took control an.d sonic sort ot a queue was formed \vhich } in this went directly out across the road! For "Lassie Come Homc ; " however, which has just completed its season in Wha. katane, the crowd needed no direction, but for all sessions formed single line queues readily facilitating to a great extent thv sale of tickets.

Now comes the question. The first ' Going My Way'' queue went straight out across the road. The "Lassie. Come Home" queue reached out the door and up the Self Help. In the afternoon the queue went the other way ' and stretched out till it reached the Para Rubber Company. With the exception of the first instance, there was no one directing the queue. Why should three queues go three different ways ? It must be one person and one alone who starts the trend. Would that person if in the same position again, direct the queue the same way ? Or is it left to chance ? Or what ? It's all very strange and there's not a single clue to the mystery.
