INSTITUTE ACTIVITIES The September meeting of the Waimana-Nukuhou Women's Institute was held last Wednesday afternoon in the Waimana Hall. There was a good attendance of and Mrs Wylde opening, the meeting with the Motto for the month "Every Cloud Has; a Silver Lining." The W.I. song was sung, and the; usual preliminary business was dealt with remits of the forthcoming Bi-Annual Council Meeting being discussed and voted on. The dele- 1 gates elected to attend the Council meeting were Mrs Looney and Mrs Mortenson.
The roll' call for the day was "Flowers for the and a beautiful collection of flowers were brought to the meeting. Mrs N. Clark offered to take them to the hospital the folloAving day.
It was decided to hold a dance and sales table for funds lor thie W.I. Drama Circle, on Thursday 13. During the afternoon the Drama Circle members ijresented a play entitled "Men Are Missing" and was greatly enjoyed by all.
The. competitions were: Best single Mrs I . Savage .1; Mre> H. Bell 2; Mrs Fleming 3. Best double flower Mrs Stevenson 1: Mrs H. Bell 2; Mrs Fleming 3. Best vegetable 5 Mrs F. Bell 1; Miss F. Woolfield' 2; Mrs King 3. Queen cakes, Mrs F. Bell 1; Mrs Mortenson Mrs Hewitt 3. Vase of spring Mrs F. Bell 1; Mrs H. Bell 2; Mrs Stevenson 3.
A greatly enjoyed afternoon tea was served by the after which Mrs Wylde tha,nked the judges and hostesses, and the meeting closed with the National Anthem.
