CALEDONIAN SOCIETY'S PLANS GATHERING AT OH OPE A preliminary meeting of the Caledonian Society's Sports Committee took place last Saturday evening when it was decided to make the. annual Scottish gathering at Ohope on New Year's Day one of the most colourful attractions in the province.

Prize money totalling approximately £200 is in view, and the dancing and piping sections will it is hoped carry with them two Dominion Championships which should draw the finest exp/ncn.ts in the North Island at least.

In the athletic and field events sections special attention is being paid to brighter and better competition than last year, and this

will be made possible by the im-

pyovements 011 the grounds which have been levelled and enlarged. The committee is determined to
