GALLAGHER—TOCKER A wedding of considerable interest: to Waimana and Taneatua residents [took place in the Whakatane Moth.-* odist Church on Saturdayj Septem-» ber 1 when. Elizabeth Gnace, twia daughter of Mr and Mrs H. W.. Tocker of Taneatua, was married! to William Ernest, third son of Mr and Mrs J. J. Gallagher formerly of Waimana nnd now of Auckland. The Rev- A. F. Attwood officiated. The bride who was given away by her father wore her mother's wedding frock of cream charmeuso tatin and guipeure lace. The beautiful workmanship of this bridal garment excited the admiration of the large crowd of assembled friends and relatives. Cut on long ilowing lines with scalloped overskirt, the bodice was offset with rows of pearls down the front which continued down/ the skirt. The short sleeves and neck-» line were, daintily fringed with frilled lace and neat gold and .silver shoes were worn. The veil was of cream silk net embroidered withi true-lover's knots in cream silkv and was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom. Her bouquet was* composed of toning stocky hyacinths and maiden-hair fern. Attending as matron-of-honour was the bride's twin sister, Mrs Grant v who wlis supported by Miss Nancy* Ernest (Whakatane) and Miss Norma Goddard (Taihape). All wore charming frocks of pink pique voile shaped on classical lines with short sleeves. Their hair-dresses were composed of i>inK and blue violets and they carried posies of toning spring flowers. Little Janet Pryde (the bride's neice) attended as flower girl with frock in agreement with, those worn by the bridesmaids, and carrying a basket of flowers. j The,, best man was Mr Bert Davis, I who was supported by Messrs Harold I Williams and Kirk Burnand as groomsmen. All were from Auckland. The church which had been charm-, ingly decorated by friends of the : bride made a charming setting for I the ceremony. The reception which was held at the home of the bride's parents saw some sixty guests assembled in the large, marquee which had been pitched on the lawn adjoining the bouse. Mrs Tocker received -her guest;s in a smart turquoise blue ensemble with accessories to tone, and >vith neat floral shoulder spray of anemonies.and cyclamen. Mrs Gallagher wore wine shaded marocain with blending accessories and shoulder spray. Rev. Attwood made an excellent toastmaster and 'kept the company in high good humour throughout. The following toasts were honoured: Loyal Toast Rev. Attwood; 'Bride and Bridegroom' Mr Grant and the Bridegroom; 'The Bride'smaids.' the Bridegroom and the Best Man; 'The Bride's Parents' Mr McGregor and Mr Tocker; 'The Bridegroom's Par-> ents' Mr C* Kingsley-Smitb arid Mr N. Gallagher; 'Army, Navy and Air Force' Mr Kirk and Mrs James (Navy) Mr Burnand (Army) and Mr Harris (Air Force).; 'Absent Friends' Mr Darvill. Mr and Mrs Gallagher left later on their honeymoon, the bride's g»ing away frock being of smart green flecked tweed with toning accessories. They will make their future home in Auckland.
