TR TEKO DIP SECTION
QUESTION OF WATER RIGHTS DEPUTATION TO COUNCIL When the Whakatane County Council advertised the dip section' adjoining the Te Teko saleyards for sale it was not realised by councillors that through the section ran a pipeline supplying water to a number of farms in tbe vicinity. The upshot was that at last' Tuesday s meeting the landowners concerned — Messrs T. Mackin and Glenn Snr. ? waited on the Council and were introduced by Cr Hunter.
In thanking the Council for affording the deputation the opportunity of stating its ease, Mr Mackin mentioneid that in the original application. an. error bad been made by regarding the Council's section as a road. Most of the. Te Teko premises and three farms —with herds approximating -100 milking cows use the pipeline. If a water pipeline easement cannot be obtained t then Messrs Eivers, Glen Senr. and Mackin would lie prepared, to offer £1 above, the highest tender for the Council section. The Council finally compromised by resolving that the Te Teko dip subject to water supply pipe line easement (pipeline to be | concreted under be readvertised for sale by tender provided Messrs Glen Sem\ Mackin] and Elvers signify in writing that they are prepared to tender £205 for the they to have the right to withdraw their tender by paying the difference be.twen the next lowest tender and £200 for the water supply pipeline easement, all expenses in connection with any such easement to be at the cost of Messrs Glen Sem\ 5 Mackin and Eivers.
