THE RABBIT PEST
IT is pleasing to note the extension of the activities of the Pongakawa Rabbit Board., At Lake Rotoma and at Manawahe where the rabbit pest was fast developing into a menace very definite improvements have been noted. The operations of the Board are worthy of far greater attention and encouragement than they actually receive from the public at large, and only those who understand the poverty, of rabbit-ridden land can appreciate the vital work which is going on all the time at a cost which amounts to a mere nothing. Every farmer and property owner owes a permanent debt of gratitude to those members of a Board which quietly and efficiently carries out its protective work on land under jts control all the year round.
