"EARLY" MORNING MILKING i, r * ■> ■ MYSTERY SOLVED : , ' A Kaiti resident who keeps a covtf" in a paddock a,djoining his hou?e re-» eently found material for domestic • banter in the fact that his wife > milking the cow in the mornings, never, brought in as much milk as ;• his own efforts with the cow later in the day produced. Getting up earlier than usual one morning a. few days ago he saw his arguments* completely blown* out when he sawr a stranger milking the cow in th» paddock while dawn was still no* more than a blush on thffe easterrt sky. He interrupted the clandes'-* dine milking and after emptying the stolen milk over the man warned him off in more specific terms.
The cow still gave only a modest amount of milk on ensuing , and tbree days after the , original discovery the thief was , once moi;c taken in the act. On this , occasion" his bucket Avast t despite his plea that he bad to take > it home for the "missus" to do th" , washing in. . 'f;
