MADE INTO KNIVES
CIRCULAR SAW STOLEN TWO MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT Two months' imprisonment in the Mt„ Eden Gaol was the reward of Tahae Taipeti, a Maori labourer of Te Toko for the theft of *a twentyfour inch .circular saw from his employer, Mr P. L. Baird at Waio j hau on May 20. The case was heard in the Whakatane Court on Wed* nesday before Messrs G. A. Brabant and C. H. Christenseii 5 J.P.S. Accused pleaded guilty to the charge. Sergeant Farrell stated that accused had been employed by Mr Baird at Waiohau. When lie had left this employment lie had stolen the saw # and later cut it up into knives for pig-hunting. Accused had a previous list of convictions. Sentence was passed as sitated.
