PEACE CELEBRATIONS

MEETING AT EDGECUMBE

Convened by Messrs D. S. Rad* cliffe and J. Black a meeting was held at Edgecumbe to elect a delegate to attend the Central Peace Celebrations Committee in Whakatane. Under the chairmanship of Mr J. Simmons the meeting fully discussed Edgecumbe's part in celebrating the final Peace i and though nothing of a definite nature eventuated it was resolved to elect a de.legate to represent Edgecumbe at the Central Conference. Mr D. S. Radclifl'e was elected unopposed to this position. It was further decided to elect a committee to deal with local arrangements and accordingly Messrs T. Ward C. K. Civil, A. Russell R. Thompson and J. Black were, declared elected.
