Lieut. Commander E. Montgomery of the Fleet. Air Arm formerly a member of the s-taff of the Loan Company in Whakatane, and also thje Secretary of the Whakatane Citizens' Band, passed through Whakatane on Friday on his way north. , At the annual conference of the Red Cross Society Mesdames Win-< stone and Hill were delegates from the Eastern Bay of Plenty Centre. Mrs Winstone who is the energetic Secretary of the also, the Whakatane branch had the distinction of being elected to the Do-i minion Council of the Society.
