CLOTHING NEEDED
U.N.R.R.A.'s URGENT APPEAL
Millions in Europe will die this winter unless warm clothing rcaclies them in time! This startling statement almost defies our comprehension, and yet it is as true and as tragic as the war which has just concluded. In order to allow New Zealand to do her bit towards alleviating the unimaginable suffering of the European population U.N.R.R.A. has appealed throughout the length and breadth of the land, and on Friday next a general collection of warm useful clothing, all articles of apparel, and footwear will be made. The drive in Whakatane will be conducted by school children who will visit householders on Friday afternoon. Residents are asked to assist as well as possible by having their parcels of clothing in' readiness; and also in having them clean. This matter is vital and provides us all Avith a chance to show practical humanity and to take advantage of the privilege of service.
