WIN FOR TE PUKE JUNIORS Wha kata nc's challenge for the Shalloon Shield, the premier Junior trophy in the Bay makes the first match of the present season between Te Puke (holders) and Rotorua (challengers) of considerable interest locally. We reprint a brief report of Saturday's game at Te Puke as published by the Rotorua Morning Post: "In spite of the fact, that the home side was. at a great disadvanttage as regards weighty the Te Puke junior representatives had little difficulty in retaining the ShalfoonJ Shield, against Rotorua at Te Puke 011 Saturday the final score being 12 —0. The score flatters the losers. At no stage were they playing with any sort of combination or dash and in the forwards, especially were outclassed. The display of the Rotorua fifteen was a body blow to the. selec-' tors ? who were extremely confident prior to departure for Te Puke. The winners' points consisted, of three tries and a penalty j£oal. The score at half-time, was (j—o."
