WOMEN'S INSTITUTE MEETS GARDENING CIRCLE The June meeting of the WaimanaNukuhou Women's Institute gardening circle was held at the home oi Mrs G. Mitchell, Waimana. There was a good attendance and Mrs King presided. A discussion on the sprnying of Brussels Sprouts and the pruning of Red and Black Currants, proved most interesting. An instructive reading on seasonal spraying and what to jjlant now, was given by Mrs G. Mitchell. A competition arranged by the hostess, was won by Mrs Wool tick! and Mrs Turner. The day's competitions, were as follows: Best flower, Mrs Woolfield 1; Mrs G. Mitchell 2. Best vegetable., Mrs G. Mitchell 1; Mrs Wylde 2; Mrs Woolfield 3. Vase of winter decorations Mrs Wylde 1 r Mrs Cooper 2; Mrs Woolfield 3. . A dainty afternoon tea was- served by Mrs. Woolfield and Mrs Wylde, after w'hich Mrs King thanked Mrs Mitchell for the use of her home and the pleasant time spent by all, also the judges and hostesses, which closed the meeting.
