EDGECUMBE SCHOOL ACCOMMODATION
WHAKATANE has been so wrapped up in its battle for recognition by the Education authorities that the of Edgecumbe, an important and growing centre in the Hangitaiki Plains have been almost overlooked by the community as far as publicity is concerned. The position at that centre is, we understand,' equally as bad as it is in Whakatane where th£ chorus of agitation is echoed periodically through these columns. In Edgecumbe however we have a rising town with more than ordinary claims to prospective population. Situated in the heart of a great arnd growing dairying district Edgecumbe is destined to becoif e an important centre of distribution for the farming communities which will be intensified in the future. These are points which should be brought forcibly to the notice of the Education Department in connection with any plans it may have under consideration for enlarging the present school,
